This year's most highly anticipated K-POP king, G-DRAGON, is finally returning to Hong Kong after an 8-year hiatus with a highly anticipated 3-day world tour concert (August 8-10) at the AsiaWorld-Expo. G-DRAGON's company, Galaxy Corporation, a global AI entertainment tech company, together with content solution company Creative MUT (MUT) and China partner SEEIN, announce the addition of Hong Kong to the 'G-DRAGON MEDIA EXHIBITION: Übermensch' art exhibition. The exhibition will run from August 15 (Friday) to September 7 (Sunday) at Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui, showcasing G-DRAGON's fusion of high-tech and art, allowing audiences to fully experience its massive world view. Korean original merchandise will also be on sale at the venue. Tickets will go on sale on August 11 (Monday) at 12 noon exclusively on the Klook platform for HK$188 each, and are expected to sell out fast!
In March this year, G-DRAGON released his third concept album, 'Übermensch' in Seoul, along with the media art exhibition 'G-DRAGON MEDIA EXHIBITION: Übermensch', which caused a sensation and became a popular check-in spot. The exhibition then kicked off its global tour, with the Tokyo and Taipei stops triggering a wave of pilgrimage, setting amazing records and generating heated discussions. This touring exhibition is created with high-end technology and media art. 'G-DRAGON MEDIA EXHIBITION: Übermensch' combines virtual reality (VR), 3D stereoscopic dynamic images, and holographic projection and other cutting-edge technologies to create an immersive experience that brings you up close and personal with G-DRAGON, fully interpreting the core message of G-DRAGON's third full-length album, 'Übermensch' (meaning 'superhuman'), and presenting his creative philosophy in the form of digital media art. The exhibition uses the language of digital media to concretely present the three core concepts of 'self-transcendence', 'freedom of art', and 'imagination of the future', allowing fans to explore GD's creative universe and the artistic philosophy behind the 'Übermensch' album, as well as G-DRAGON's unique creative worldview.
Why Harbour City
The Hong Kong stop of the exhibition will be held at Hong Kong's largest shopping mall, 'Harbour City', which has stood on the Victoria Harbour waterfront for over 50 years and is an indispensable landmark in Hong Kong. At that time, the exhibition will create 'immersion', 'interaction', and 'resonance' at Ocean Centre, Level 4, and Gateway Arcade Lobby I, Harbour City, providing fans with an opportunity to experience this cross-generational art feast in Hong Kong. One of the highlights of the exhibition is that audiences can use VR technology to immerse themselves in the wonderful performance of G-DRAGON's latest single 'TAKE ME', as if they are in a one-on-one exclusive stage created by G-DRAGON for his fans.
In addition, the exhibition also uses multiple 5G Hologram floating projection devices to play 'TAKE ME' and 'IBELONGIIU' performance images. With a screen border of only 2 cm, the exhibition creates an extremely realistic sense of presence. While the Tokyo and Taipei stops used projection technology to present the images, the Hong Kong stop specially uses double-sided LED screens to create a corridor, combining sound effects to create a dual sensory experience, as if G-DRAGON is accompanying the fans in exploring his world. The venue will also feature a limited sale of original peripheral products imported from Korea, and it is expected to launch a limited-edition lucky bag purchase event, allowing fans to complete their collection of G-DRAGON's art series, making it a highly collectible item!
The exhibition will also feature a limited-edition installation art at Gateway Arcade Lobby I, Harbour City, including the most eye-catching 'Daisy Garden', which symbolizes G-DRAGON's creative spirit, featuring a 4.4-meter-tall daisy installation, a must-visit check-in spot!
